Drum Call Programs
Afrikan drum solo
pierces the air at this time twice a week, pulling the attention
of those gathered in the community. Patterns emerge, forming
rhythms, syncopations. Somewhere in the intermingling of the
long and short bursts, a message appears to be communicated. Someone has called the drummers and dancers for a session of
drumming, dancing, singing, and cultural enrichment. The leader
plays a frenzied comment followed by a conclusive roll, ending
with a sharp break which silences all sounds and stops all
movements and begins
THE DRUM CALL.
