OBey Foundation Advisory Board

Abishai Ben Reuben

Why are you involved in this work (OBey Foundation)?
I am involved because I strongly know that this is my calling in life to empower and serve humanity through Obeys' Foundation goals. As an African-American father, grandfather, great grandfather, and now an elder, my experiences have allowed me to be more cognizant of my responsibilities and duties to especially uplift African-Americans, and enlighten humanity overall.

Who or What inspires you?
My grandfather, my parents, my spiritual teachers, and especially my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

What topics/subjects are you always willing to chat about?
I am always willing to chat and share about my knowledge of universal spirituality and African culture.

John McGill, III, ESQ

Why are you involved in this work (OBey Foundation)?
I have always believed that part of my life's responsibility is to contribute to the uplifting of my community and honor the sacrifices toward our progress and liberation from oppression made by our elevated ancestors. I also believe that OBey Foundation is a progressive community organization with a proven track record of dedication to such efforts.

What about your life experiences makes it matter so much to you?
It is a spiritual calling, rooted in my relationship with God and my ancestors.

When not working on OBey activities, what do you like to do?
I am an avid fisherman, both fresh and salt water. Additionally, I am a hand drumming enthusiast, who enjoys percussion, African and Afro-Cuban drumming styles and rhythms.

Who or what inspires you?
Kojo Bey, the members of the OBey Board of Directors, our sponsors and all individuals dedicated toward the uplift of the worlds downtrodden and oppressed peoples.
